Tom, It is already upgraded to the 5700 level. The hoop is so small. It seems limited by that. Do I just need some lessons to get the most out of it. I bought it from an individual so I don't think the nearest dealer (40 miles away) will give me lessons.
During this period, however, the group’s producer Jay Dee greatly increased his profile through work with artists such as Common, Busta Rhymes, Erykah Badu and A Tribe Called Quest.
Full version of halo combat evolved. In fact the lady running the store near me says she doesn't know anything about it. I got a good Christmas bonus. If you could tell me what to buy I could probably get it from the dealer in Huntsville. I just have a few cards and do not have the capability to download from the computer unless one of those Ultimate Boxes will work with it. Any other software available??????????? Any publications that would help me learn the nuances of machine embroidery with my particular machine. I have the owners manual but it is fairly limited in scope.
I do love sewing with my machine and have done some nice monograms. Posts: 727 Joined: Mon Aug 13, 2007 10:52 pm. The Magic Box would allow you to download designs and put them on memory cards.
Among the other pograms are ones that will let you digitize pictures (essentially change the dpi to stitches), resize designs and change the stitch density, change a design into a cross stitch design, digitize a photograph, and many more. For real simple digitizing there is even on that allows you to color in the areas on your computer screen or on an electronic sketchpad just like you were coloring in a coloring book.
As for getting help from a dealer most dealers don't mind training on used machines. However to find a dealer still teaching on the 5700 might be hard. If you purchase the software from a dealer they will most likely be willing to help all they can. Using the software doesn't really have much to do with which machine you have. You do the work on the computer and then send it to the proper media for your machine.
Before buying the software I would make sure the seller does offer classes. If they don't they don't deserve your business anyway. I would suggest first your Janome or Elna dealers (same machine, same software) since they should be more familiar with your machine. Second, if those dealers are not satisfactory I would go to the Pfaff or Viking dealer. They will have the best software and they will be well trained on it. (The other companies do not make training mandatory on new products for dealers).
I can't even think of who it is but I know I see the Huntsville Pfaff dealer at all teh trainings. All of your major brand software is priced about the same. There is one available over the 'net' (my feeble mind can't bring its name to mind right now) that is fair and is reasonably priced but doesn't really compare to the 'real' softwares. Of course with it you would be right back where you are with no help. Posts: 103 Joined: Wed Aug 15, 2007 9:26 pm.
